Uhlig Staunton Chess Set, ca. 1920

Uhlig Staunton Chess Set, ca. 1920

A German bone chess set in the Staunton style made by K.P.Uhlig in Borstendorf/Germany. The king size is 80 mm, which makes this a very large and rare set. The bone is of the highest quality I have seen so far. Its appearance is almost ivory like even though you can clearly identify the material as bone. The set is in almost pristine condition, just two small chips on a white and a black rook. Heavy and very playable.

The offer is for pieces only, i.e. the board shown is not included. However, the pieces come in their original wooden box. Asking price is 480 EUR + shipping (insured & tracked). Shipping and customs clearance (if shipping outside the EU is required) is at the sole risk of the buyer, but I will certainly assist as far as possible in case of any queries.
