Italfama chess board, which was in a pitiful condition when I bought it. It had lots of dents and stains, some of which the seller thought would be permanent. I tried my luck and reworked the entire surface with a proper polishing of both, the metal playing board and the wooden rim. The result is far away from the Italfama original and the high gloss polish of the brass squares is rather uncomfortable to play. But it makes a nice display board.
Total size is 500 x 500 mm, playing size is 380 x 380 mm. The individual squares measure 43 x 43 mm.
Shown below with a late 19th c. English Club Chess Set in the St. George pattern (King size 4.5").
