3.5" Jaques Staunton tournament chess set in boxwood and ebony with "Broadbent" knights. These sets were produced by Jaques between 1925 and 1937. Both kings stamped "Jaques London" on the side of the base. Rooks and knights with king side stamping. The set is heavily weighted and with the original box and label. The set is similar to the ones used in the 1927 London Chess Olympiad. The last picture is showing a position of the match between Ernst Gruenfeld (white) and Max Euwe (black), position after the 9th move.
