German Bone Chess Set, early 19th century

German Bone Chess Set with a king size of 7.5 cm, dating back to the early 19th century. One side is stained dark brown, the other left natural. The Kings and Queens with barrel shaped bodies resembling the barleycorn / ropetwist style. The Kings with a pointed crown, the Queens with ball finials, Rooks as conical towers with reeded arched tops, the Knights as horses' heads in the typical German style, the Bishops with split mitres, the Pawns with knob finials.
