English Ivory Chess Set, which in my opinion was made in the early 19th century by the Calvert workshop. One side is stained red, the other left natural. The Kings surmounted with Maltese crosses, the Queens with reeded ball finials surmounted by a feather finial, Rooks as cranellated turrets, the Knights as arched horses' heads, resembling early 19th century knights in the "Washington" style, the Bishops with split mitres. The pieces were a bit dusty when they arrived at my house, but after I gave them a bit of cleaning, they almost look like new. Only downside is that one white pawn is replaced, but apart from that the set is in perfect condition.
