A Union Chess Set from Denmark. The pieces are made from wood. Both sides are lacquered. The white pieces were left natural, but covered with a clear lacquer. The dark pieces were lacquered in a very beautiful cherry red. The Queens' crowns are made of coloured dots of the opposite colour, i.e. red dots for the crown of the white Queen and white dots for the crown of the red Queen. King size is 60 mm. 

The box the set came in is inscribed on one side with "11/50", which indicates that the set was either produced or sold in November 1950, which fits to the overall appearance of the set.
