Wonderful pieces made from boxwood and rosewood. Especially the rosewood has a very charming wood grain, which is absolutely adorable. Perhaps the most elegant wood you can use for chess pieces. King size is 3.8". All pieces are heavily weighted. The Kings crosses and the finials of the Queens and Bishops are in opposite colour. The shape of the Knights is in my view ideal for playing, which makes this my favorite playing set among the modern reproductions.
