Staunton chess set from Costa Rica, nicely turned and carved from local woods, ca. 1980's. Very distinctive Knights with an almost duck shaped head. King size is 10.3 cm. It came in a huge solid wood box with a knight's head on the lid. The pieces are heavily weighted. The total weight of the pieces is ca. 1.750 g, the box is another 900 g. Heaviest set of this size in my collection so far.
