Turned Chessmen, Mike Darlow, 168 p.
This book is volume 5 of a series on woodturning, which is focusing on the design of chess pieces. The book is mainly addressed at people interested in learning the craft of woodturning. However, a large part of the book explains the various design features of historical chess pieces and is, therefore, also of interest to mere collectors. The book gives a lot of background information on the various pieces' symbols and on technical terms. Very useful!
