Jerger Chess Clock "Rook & Pawn", Germany, ca. 1950-1960
Little is known about this Jerger chess clock, which is one of the rarest Jerger chess clocks ever made. According to the little information available on the internet, the clock was based on a special design and only produced in very limited numbers. The case of the clock is decorated with carved chessmen, a Rook on the left side and a Pawn on the right side of the clock. The clock faces are typical for Jerger clocks from the 1950's.
There is a presumably earlier model of comparable design, which was decorated with a Bishop on the left and a Knight on the right with black (or dark) clock faces, but I only know it from pictures, but have never seen a specimen of the clock itself. It is said to be a predecessor of the "Rook & Pawn" clock.
The clock itself is in almost pristine condition. Only the pins for adjusting the time are missing, but can be easily replaced.
